This role will independently lead the strategic direction for a roster of clients, while helping us bring a big-picture mindset to all our clients, ensuring that long-term strategy is continually addressed throughout the life of a client partnership.

Responsibilities

Brand Strategy

  • Lead client discovery sessions to uncover perceived challenges and opportunities
  • Run and analyze various research streams, such as competitive analysis, qualitative stakeholder interviews, market surveys, and focus groups
  • Synthesize data to develop clear client presentations, making recommendations based on data
  • Develop and present brand strategy deliverables such as brand opportunity reports, positioning, brand architecture, messaging pillars, verbal systems, and brand books.

Brand Management

  • Independently lead the strategic direction of brand, marketing and creative efforts for a roster of clients, with consultative input from Associate Strategy Director
  • Continue to drive brands forward by contributing to internal brainstorming sessions to establish elevated strategies on behalf of clients
  • Assist in the development of a variety of strategy-led deliverables
  • Stay abreast of industry trends for all owned client industries, as well as relevant marketing, social media and paid media trends
  • Identify opportunities to add strategic value, and discuss with cross-functional teams to develop plans accordingly

Ongoing Strategic Support

  • Collaborate interdepartmentally, representing the interests of the client’s brand to other agency disciplines and partner agencies
  • Attend and/or present in client and internal meetings
  • Effectively participate and own multiple client engagements at various stages of brand development, brand activation and and go-to-market planning, while producing high quality deliverables

Requirements

  • 9+ years of agency or corporate experience in a brand strategy or marketing strategy role
  • Exposure to or knowledge of a variety of industries in the B2B and B2C spaces
  • Strategic thinking and storytelling with business acumen
  • Experience with the core elements of brand strategy, including positioning, brand architecture, name development, messaging and voice
  • Ability to design, field and report on a variety of market research methodologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, business, psychology, sociology or related field
  • Must be able to maintain a positive disposition in a fast-paced environment and during demanding times
  • Independent thinking and task management
  • Willingness to challenge traditional thinking and take risks
  • Must be driven, understand business goals, and have an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Must be located in the United States

Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000
