Job Summary: 

SelectQuote's digital marketing team needs a Content Development Specialist to help us create content to enhance the customer experience. The Content Development Specialist sits on the SEO & Content Strategy team in the Marketing department but works closely with other teams, including the Customer Lifecycle Management and Customer Experience teams. This role's focus is to develop content for both existing and new customer audiences at SelectQuote, one of the country's preeminent national insurance brokerages. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Write and edit copy for a variety of digital and traditional media, including but not limited to: email, SMS, websites, blog posts, direct mail, and social media
  • Collaborate with designers, marketing professionals, and other stakeholders on content presentation, integrating text, images, graphics, and other interactive content elements.
  • Leverage SelectQuote's voice and style guidelines, audience research, customer personas and user journey information to create useful, useable content
  • Help develop and execute an agent voice and style for customer communications
  • Identify and solve complex problems for various audiences with content
  • Research content and consumer trends to ensure content is relevant and appealing, directly in support of customer lifecycle management and customer experience vehicles
  • Coordinate content creation and approvals from relevant stakeholders
  • Input and edit content into the content management system
  • Regularly update and revise content based on performance analytics, feedback, and changes in industry trends.
  • Ensure SEO strategies are implemented where appropriate
  • Assist in creating and maintaining content governance processes, including editorial calendars, inventories, sitemaps, audits, and asset libraries
  • Through the lens of the existing customer, help inform and execute on the content strategies across SelectQuote's different lines of business, including Life, Auto & Home, and Senior
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office is required
  • Strong knowledge of Google Suite programs is required
  • Knowledge of insurance industry strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated excellence in content clarity, creativity, and design (candidate may be asked to provide work samples of content they have created)
  • Focus and attention to detail
  • Intellectual curiosity 
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • Resourceful and autonomous learner with the ability to deliver under pressure
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and 3-5 years copywriting experience for medium-to-large brands
  • Experience in direct response marketing is required
  • Experience in insurance lead generation is preferred 
  • Exposure and/or direct experience in customer support is preferred
  • Experience developing, managing, and maintaining content governance elements
  • Working knowledge of content management systems
