Job Summary 

We are looking for an experienced Product Marketing Manager for Edge and Object databases, covering Actian Zen, our small footprint, low-maintenance embedded database, Actian NoSQL, our object database with high availability and replication, and Volt MX, our low code app development platform. The ideal candidate willhave a good understanding of how operational data is collected, stored, and leveraged and experience marketing and/or selling to developers.
Crafting and executing go-to-market strategies for these products, as well as developing personas, market insights, positioning, messaging, and content will be key areas of responsibility. An important channel for some of our database products is the partner channel, thus working with Alliances on a partner marketing strategy is part of the role. 


  • Develop and execute Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy for NoSQL database, Edge database, and application development products and relevant partners.
  • Ensure alignment around GTM strategy and message by working closely with product management, sales, and customer success.
  • Plan and execute product launches, including working with cross-functional teams.
  • Determine how to best message position new product features/product launches and drive increased revenue through the go-to-market, including via OEM.
  • Experience positioning to Developers/engaging with Developer communities.
  • Knowledge of IoT application development and Object databases.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs and the competitive landscape.
  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates your products in the market.
  • Create thought leadership and new content aligned with that differentiation.
  • Ensure marketplace, website, and core collateral/ content is up to date/current.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and the point of contact for messaging for these products.
  • Develop sales/marketing enablement assets such as product cheat sheets, launch plans, personas, sales enablement tools and training.


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field. 
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise software product marketing, preferably for Edge and/or NoSQL databases. 
  • Strong technical background, preferably with experience in software management, systems engineering, or consulting. 
  • Knowledge of Edge /embedded and Object/NoSQL databases.
  • Initiate and drive Developer relations.
  • Experience positioning to Developers / engaging with Developer communities.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and Atlassian products (Confluence, Jira, Jira Work Management) 
  • Strong experience in writing in all forms; develop content and incorporate SEO.
