We are seeking a motivated Marketing and Communications professional to join our Marketing and Communiations Team.

The Marketing and Communications (MarCom) Department supports Taproot’s meaningful work in the following ways:

  • Manages the Taproot brand
  • Supports revenue growth
  • Drives awareness from new users
  • Creates engagement with existing partners

Our brand is here to inspire, motivate, and support our audiences. By clearly communicating why we do what we do, how we are different, what we can do for our partners, and how we show up in the world, our brand framework provides the underpinnings for all our communications. We craft clear, accurate, and consistent marketing assets for our various audiences, including nonprofits, small businesses, volunteers, philanthropic partners, and corporate CSR/HR professionals. We are seeking a Digital MarCom Manager to manage Taproot events and partnerships and optimize our web presence. In collaboration with the MarCom team, the manager will ensure Taproot’s website is professional and accurate with up-to-date content, resources, and branding. The Digital MarCom Manager will be responsible for overseeing Taproot’s internal webinar program and external event/conference strategy. This is a critical role in helping to shape the story of Taproot and reinforce the mission and impact of our organization through external engagements while growing and supporting the digital footprint.

What you’ll achieve

The responsibilities and duties of the Digital Marketing (MarCom) Manager consist of (but are not limited to):

Manage digital marketing plans and the Taproot website, including SEO, display ads, popup banners, retargeting, and geo-targeting as appropriate.

  • Optimize Google Ad spend based on performance metrics.
  • Ensure content, resources, and event listings are up-to-date and accurate.

Oversee educational webinar program for nonprofit and volunteer audiences.

  • Project manage end-to-end event planning including back-end webinar platform support, marketing, promotion, and post-event tasks.
  • Occasionally moderate live webinars.
  • Act as liaison to potential webinar presenters.
  • Ensure an organized and efficient approach to webinar implementation.

Manage marketing partnerships to expand Taproot visibility and drive impact.

  • Be the Taproot liaison on behalf of the marketing team and manage deliverables which might include collaborative approaches to content, social media, webinars, and events.

Contribute to the development and reimagination of events and conventions at Taproot. Consider new approaches to bringing people together and stimulating important conversations.

  • Research upcoming conferences and events for Taproot senior leaders to attend, either as speakers or attendees.
  • Supervise Marketing and Communications Associate.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing or communications. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing and communications roles. Experience at a nonprofit organization a plus.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communications skills and strong attention to details.
  • Experience with SEO and Key Word optimization.
  • Proficient user of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Preferred experience with Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Office 365, and Asana or related programs.
  • Experience with website management, WordPress experience preferred.
  • Experience with promoting and managing online events/webinars a plus.
  • Must be tech-savvy and be able to adapt to and adopt new tools and software platforms quickly, effectively, and efficiently.

Additional Information:

  • This is a remote position with minimal travel required. Taproot is accepting applications from candidates based anywhere in the continental United States.
  • For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $55,750 - $70,000 annually, subject to locality adjustments. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
