Your Mission

As a Social Enterprise, at Goodwall, our Social Impact strategy and our Business Development strategies are closely intertwined. We build partnerships with like-minded organizations able to provide value for youth and access to learning and earning opportunities through their resources, expertise, and networks. As Social Impact Director your primary mission will be to drive the growth of our business through impactful partnerships and revenue generated from social impact initiatives. Leveraging your deep understanding of the social impact space and ecosystem of partners, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our revenue targets and developing our programs and strategic positioning. Your proficiency in managing public-private partnerships and navigating the grants and tenders landscape will also be part of your success in this role. Some of your responsibilities will include::

  • Own and lead the Social Impact and Business Development strategy of the company, in collaboration with the rest of the team and in coordination with the Leadership Team

  • Leverage Goodwall’s and your personal network to strengthen and scale up existing partnerships and cultivate new relationships with key actors in the space.

  • Steering complex relationships with a range of partners, including Fortune 500 companies, foundations, governmental agencies, United Nations agencies and other organizations.

  • Use your knowledge of the sector and stakeholders to identify funding opportunities

  • Ensure that our relationships lead to successful proposals, grant applications, and commercial outcomes, fostering mutual benefits and shared values.

  • Lead the development and delivery of impactful presentations, effectively conveying our mission, offerings, and the potential for collaboration.

  • Develop and execute complex partnership proposals that highlight our value proposition, align with our mission, and resonate with potential partners.

  • Translate your understanding of the social impact landscape into innovative strategies that drive revenue growth.

  • Based on your expertise on impact measurement help drive the transformation of our MEL strategy

  • Contribute to growth and business strategy around the social impact revenue vertical

  • Evolve and develop new approaches to programs through collaborating cross functionally

  • Act as the primary point of contact, coordinating strategic partner engagements and internally liaising with internal teams to ensure successful execution.

Your Profile

A hands-on, organized leader who does not need layers above or below to deliver excellence with the following attributes: 

  • 10+ years of professional work experience in the design, development and implementation of large scale programs in the social impact sector (i.e. development aid, CSR, ESG, humanitarian, social enterprises, etc.). Experience in the sectors of youth upskilling, youth development and employment, digital skills, and informal learning are considered a plus

  • Track record of results in fundraising and creating large-scale partnerships with global organizations from private and public sectors.

  • Outstanding capacity to manage relationships, understanding diplomacy, priorities and needs of a number of different partners, adapting to the audience and facilitating relationships

  • Capacity to navigate the ways of working, mechanisms, and procedures of a wide range of partners, to facilitate decision-making and funding allocation and disbursement 

  • Solid experience in managing directly and indirectly all the stages of business development and partnership creation from initial outreach to contract signature including development and negotiation of joint initiatives.

  • Experience leveraging multi-stakeholders partnerships and combining different sources of funding and funding mechanisms

  • Extensive experience in the development of all the material required to formalize partnerships and enable funding: deck presentations, proposal documents, detailed budgets, work plans, contracts and MoUs, tender/grant application, reporting, etc.

  • Entrepreneurial problem-solver with a data-driven growth mindset

  • Experience in using CRM, pipeline management and efficiency tools such as Salesforce, Notion, G Suite, etc

  • You thrive in communication and collaboration, easily working with partners from diverse international backgrounds to working cross-functionally internally.

  • Your ability to operate in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment allows you to adapt and deliver results under pressure.

  • Capacity to align with current procedures and systems, while constantly identifying room for improvements and developing tools and mechanisms to improve the work of the team

  • Ability to navigate autonomously complex environments, maintaining focus on immediate results, while contributing to the long-term strategy of the company 

  • Experience in leading and managing teams, in a collaborative and participatory way background in social impact, NGOs, development agencies, UN, strategy consulting, CSR, edtech, or other relevant fields would be highly advantageous.
