1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but the vast majority do not get the care they need. The primary reason is cost: the majority of therapists do not accept insurance, meaning paying for therapy is prohibitively expensive for prospective patients. This is where we got our start – Headway has built the first software-enabled network of therapists who accept health insurance, making it easy for therapists to grow their practices, and possible for patients to find quality care they can afford.
We launched in April of 2019 and are now powering 400,000+ appointments per month. To scale our vision, we’ve raised over $100 million in funding from a16z, Thrive, Accel, and Google Ventures.
Join Headway and be on the frontlines of our work to go deep with health plans. The first of its kind, the Payer Marketing Strategy Associate role will be relationship-obsessed with our current and future health plan partners. They will build and execute on outstanding in-person and virtual convenings, drafting insight-driven case studies and white papers, and equip the business development team with opportunities to deepen relationships with key stakeholders.
The right candidate is a “healthcare nerd” who is hungry to continue to understand mental health care strategy, and learn how health plans work and make decisions. Organizational excellence, an attention to detail, and the ability to proactively solve problems amidst ambiguity are key. This person is as much an air-traffic controller and seamstress with precision, as they are a creative health care wonk. A knack for excellent distillation of ideas into clearly written collateral, desire to tell the story of Headway to enterprise executives, and hunger to produce the best in-person events will make this person shine.
