About the job

This position is needed to design, build and own our performance management process, including how we identify talent and build succession plans.

We are looking for an experienced Performance Management Leader who can set our new strategy as we rethink our philosophy and processes around performance management, talent reviews, and succession planning. You’ll be working in our Talent Development team, bringing a performance playbook and bold ideas from past experiences at other global organizations and turning those ideas into strategies that are grounded in what’s right for Twilio.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead the design and roll out of a new performance management philosophy with multiple senior stakeholders
  • Manage the current performance review process (year end and mid year) - liaising with our HR Tech team, DEI, compensation and HRBPs to deliver
  • Own the complete Talent Review approach and cycle - how and when we assess critical talent across the business
  • Lead the succession planning process - working with senior leaders to identify successors and also leadership development team to build out plans

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in Performance Management / Talent Management or related field
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master’s Degree in Business, I/O Psychology or a related field preferred
  • Proven track record leading large scale, global performance and talent review processes and projects end-to-end in a fast-paced company with multiple stakeholders that require robust change management and communication

Desired:

  • Subject matter expertise and experience in designing and implementing performance management, talent reviews, succession planning and organizational interventions
  • Experience partnering with Diversity, Equity, Inclusion teams to build and ensure equity in core organizational processes and systems
  • Experience of using Workday
  • Experience and qualifications in talent assessment / leadership assessment tools
  • Experience partnering with talent and leadership development teams to drive organizational effectiveness/development strategies
  • Strong business acumen and credibility to accurately anticipate the impact of business events on organizational and talent needs
  • Proven capability to engage and influence top management decisions and negotiate with stakeholders

Location

This role will be remotebut is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

Approximately 10% travel is anticipated.

*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado, California, New York, and Washington. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado:$160,080.00-$200,100.00
  • Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area):$169,250.00-$211,900.00
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $188,320.00-$235,400.00
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
